Blah

Ok so February hasn't been the most exciting month. It seems to be the case for most. Thank goodness its one of the shorter ones. Is it the shortest? I think the Romans messed up the numbers or something...The highlight of my month, was the beautiful snowstorm that we had, coupled with the mild temps. We had a lot of fun in the snow last Sunday. I felt right at home! We also sold our condo in Montreal, so come April, it will free up a lot of our moolah. So I'll be back to my old shopping tricks. I've felt so deprived! LoL.
Friday is also my last scheduled visit at the Chiropractor. She said that I should be following up with her for up to three months afterward!!! Not intensive like I'm doing now, just when needed. Kind of like a once a week thing.
I got my truck back in one shiny piece. It only took 32 days!!! Anyway, I took it home and realized that the seat warmer doesn't work but worst of all my car starter isn't working either. So I'm back in another rental until they get it fixed. In a Ford Explorer, go figure.
Til next time!

Happy B-Day Dave

MB and his new lady Andrea. They make a cute couple, and he's less negative now that he's getting some booty.

Yippeeee! We surprised Dave today with a Cold Stone Cookie Dough Cake, and a bottle of his favorite whiskey. It was nice to do something for such a great guy.
Dave has a pony. He's my hero. He's brown, and blind in one eye. Dave says that he's going to take Vegas home, and let him sleep in the barn with the pony and his other two hunting dogs. He'd sleep in the hay. Ya right!!! LOL Vegas would cry like a baby! Dave jokes that it would be ok if Vegas cried and howled 'cos he wouldn't hear it from the house! Poor, spoiled Baby Veg...
Check out the awesome cakes...

Sleepy Moments

Vegas loves to cuddle in his chair beside my desk.

Vegas and I are on our way to the battlefield for a nice walk. Its milder today, hopefully it will melt some of the ice. I heard Vegas howl for the first time today too. It was quite the song. He heard some crows on the roof and he started barking. They didn't go away, so he continued to bark, and then the howl came out! I wish I could have got it on tape. He sounded just like a wolf! The howl went on for about 10 seconds straight! He's got some good lungs.

Miss everyone in Montreal!

Bored

Although I've had a busy day, I'm a little bored. I upgraded my page, and lost some of the settings as I was forwarned. Anyway, I've decided to change my template but its all the same ones as before. With all this upgrading crap they've put on here, you'd think they'd offer some new templates? Instead, they just let you customize your new one...(not that many options anyway) If anyone knows how I can get my own original one, please enlighten me. I'd like a makeover.
Off to the Chiro!
Have a good weekend!

Dave-ism

So here's the latest one. Dave was talking about not going to a certain part of town at night. This is how he said it.
"After dark, dey roll up dem streets. Ya don't go there".

Ice Storm

So we finally got some real snow here. It later turned into freezing rain snow, sleet, whatever you want to call it. We all parked our cars in the warehouse to keep them safe and sound from the weather, and from dumb drivers. I'm driving the Silver Nissan Pathfinder while my Explorer is getting fixed.

Vegas is not sure about the snow just yet. He didn't like it when his paws sank into the snow! If dogs could tip toe he would be doing it! He's definetely trying to step lightly!

Yippeeee! He can pee right! Good boy!

Vego and Pops...

Kisses from the babe in front of the office...

Veg in the kitchen with glowing eyes...

Matt made a cake to celebrate what they do to a certain someone's coffee cup at work...
They're mean. Very mean. Boys will be boys.

Matt had surgery on his testicles. He only has 1 left. He's secure with that. He was very brave.

Matt sent me this pic of himself. Yes, ladies he's single. He's in Jamaica now! Right where Marc and I were married, in Ocho Rios. He's going to have a blast! No fair.

Weather

Weather: Virginia Is For Lovers: "Gainesville, VA

Currently at 2/13/2007 4:20:34 PM EST
Freezing Rain
Temp: 28 F / Humidity: 86% / Winds: N at 4 mph "

Although its not cold here today, the roads are getting pretty nasty. I did the banking that I do for work, and went to the post office early this morning. There's no way I'm driving on these roads today or tomorrow! I finish at 6pm but am going to stay until about 7, so its less likely that I will encounter as many drivers on the road. Everything is pretty well grounded here. There's barely any snow on the ground but people usually stay off the roads after about 4cm have fallen. Man, I can't believe what I'm used to in Quebec 'cos this is nothing! If a couple of cm fall here, there is no school, and people don't go into work. I think I've gotten maybe one or two snow days growing up! Kids must love it here!

Movie Weekend

We had a nice relaxing weekend. I spent most of Saturday cleaning, and then rented some movies. We watched a whopping 5 movies on Saturday and Sunday! Nothing really worth mentioning. However, I rented one called Running with Scissors. It was based on the book, which I read. Man, I really am a bookworm! No, I am not going to review it here. lol. Needless to say, it was bizarre but definetely not as crazy as the book. They did touch upon how a certain doctor examined his poo, in order to determine his financial future.
Anyway, it was still nice to chill out, and relax for once. MB was away at his new girlfriends house. She's a hairdresser, maybe she can cut my hair. I saw a new colour I wanted...golden blond. I'm going to do it come spring.
Vegas is doing well. He's going through a growth spurt right now, and has the appetite of a horse! He's really starting to fill out. I will post a new pic soon. He has his own chair at work next to me. Everyone loves him here but they think he is a big mama's boy. He is. That's ok.
My car should be ready soon , I hope!

Jhumpa Lahiri

I just recently plowed through these two Pulitzer prize winning books. They are both worth your time. Especially if you've moved far from home, where the culture is very different (Ahem, Cari). I won't write another long critique like the last one. Interpreter of Maladies is a compilation of short stories about various life experiences.
The Namesake was also very good. Its about a family who moves to the US from India,
while trying not to lose touch with their roots.
I'm sure most can relate to many thoughts in the story,
if you've ever
moved far from home.
Turns out they're turning this book into a movie shortly.
Awesome...
Here's a website where you can find out more about the story and movie.

Dave-ism

The facility manager is a super nice guy. He's a retired firefighter, and was at the Pentagon for 911! He's very modest about it all. He says not to believe what people say, it really did happen. he's got pictures.
He's also very southern. He has so many little sayings that crack me up.
Here's the latest.
He sees me walking towards my desk. He looks into my cup. I'm drinking water. He says,
"Water?!? That won't rust the pipes!"
This Dave-ism rivals Cari's "Hooting and Hollerin"
I'll post them as they come...

Breakfast

I shared a croissant from 711 with Vegas today. It was a little dry. Its hard to share with Vegas 'cos he eats too fast and he rushes me through my meal.

Back By Popular Demand

This post is dedicated to Cari. lol. I haven't been up to too much lately, just work and going to the Chiro. I last went on Monday evening. This was quite a different experience than my first time. The first time (in the am), she took her time and we discussed my accident quite a bit. On Monday, I went in at 630pm. I was her last appointment. In a matter of five minutes, she threw me around the room and cracked more bones than I thought I had. I felt like I got the crap beaten out of me but I felt good. So far I think that its helping because the pain in my lower back is pretty well non existent. Can't wait to see what's in store for me this evening.
We also celebrated Superbowl on Sunday. This event is HUGE here. More food is consumed on this day than on any other occasion. That includes Christmas and Thanksgiving! I think its all the beer and chicken wings that are eaten. Ewww...
I can't wait to get to Montreal at the end of this month. I hope that my truck is ready, if not I will have to make a big stink for them to let me take the rental back home!
I'm off to get manhandled now! Wish me luck!

Chiroprator

Today was my big day at the Chiropractor. I had my follow up appointment at the doctor yesterday. She insisted that I go to a chiropractor. I have a little bit of pain in the lower left side of my back. I didn't think that it was a big deal but she says that I will pay for it 10 years from now. SO, it was a good thing that I went. She took an X-Ray of my back. Holy! If I didn't see it for myself, I wouldn't have believed her! The second vertebrae from the bottom, is off to the left. I was so freaked!!! It felt weird to see my bones in the first place (they were pretty sexy I might add) but to see one off to the side was too much! Anywho, a couple of cracks later, and I was on my merry way. I'm scheduled for 3 visits a week for a month. I have to go on a regular basis because I can't let the scar tissue heal where my spine is out of place. So with regular cracks and stretches, it should heal nicely.
